• Game Drives in Akagera National Park offer Big Five sightings. This is one of the highlights of Rwanda Safaris. Both day and night drives are available for visitors. 
• Bird watching is a popular activity in Akagera which cannot be missed. Diverse habitats of the place are responsible for the wide variety of birds. A rewarding experience for all bird lovers. 
• Fishing is another well-known activity offered at Lake Shakani. Visitors to the park can spend the day relaxing and fishing by the lake. 
• Boat Cruises on Lake Ihema offer amazing scenic views while enjoying the breeze hitting the face during the ride. While sailing across the lake, it is common to sight some aquatic animals like hippos and crocodiles. The rare shoebill storks can be spotted here too. 
• Hiking and Guided Nature walk across the park allow visitors to experience the fascinating flora and fauna of the place. 
• Guests coming to the Akagera National Park are provided with the unique opportunity of hiking along the 120 km perimeter fence along with park guides. This 7 km walk by the fence offers amazing views of the park.  
• Cultural Visits enable visitors to the park to learn about the culture of the local people and experience their lifestyles, local food, and folk music/dance.
